About me
I am an educational and child psychologist working in London and the surrounding areas. I undertook my doctoral training at UCL Institute of Education and completed research on the educational experiences of Looked After Children. I have previously worked as an educational psychologist for a local authority in an Inner London Borough and as a primary school teacher in the London area.
I am passionate about working with children and young people and believe that every child should have the opportunity to meet their potential and achieve success. Psychological assessments make it possible to identify a child's strengths and areas of need, with a view to devising and implementing a comprehensive programme to support their needs and maximise their potential.
I have worked and supported children and young people with a range of needs including; learning difficulties, dyslexia, dyscalculia, language difficulties, processing and memory difficulties, social communication difficulties, attention difficulties, behaviour difficulties and those with emotional needs. I use both cognitive assessment and structured interviews to gain a holistic and integrated understanding of your child.
I run informative and collaborative workshops for parents, in order to explore the challenges of parenting and supporting children and young people at various ages and stages of development. Some topics include; encourgaing an emotionally healthy child, managing the emotional and behavioural needs of your child, supporting your child's literacy development.
I am particularly interested in working with children and young people who may be presenting anxiety, including social anxiety, separation anxiety, attachment difficulties, those who may have experienced loss and are struggling with change. I offer therapeutic support based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, in addition to Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Narrative Enquiry.
